Frequently Asked Questions
What services do you offer?
I offer the following services:
Individual Therapy
Family Therapy
Couple’s Therapy
How do I get started?
To get started, use the contact us page and reach out to schedule a free consult. Further information will be provided regarding your therapist, services and fees.
A contact form is not yet listed directly on the site to limit risk related to your confidential information.
What are your fees and do you take insurance?
I currently accept Lyra Health EAP clients.
I take over 50 insurances through contract companies, Headway, Grow and Rula, including Kaiser SoCal and NorCal via Grow and Rula Health. Please check my Services and fees page to learn more.
If you opt to pay out of pocket to limit your insurance involvement or because you do not have insurance, my fees are listed on the services page. Sliding scale spots are available and limited.
I am also happy to provide a superbill (aka receipt) so that you can submit it to your insurance for reimbursement.
Is therapy in person or online
Therapy is 100% telehealth at this time.
Where do I have to be located to get therapy? Can I get therapy services if I am out of state?
All clients I serve must reside in California and be located in California during sessions to receive services.
I am only licensed to see clients located in California.
If my teen attends therapy, can I be involved?
Your involvement in your teen’s therapy is dependent upon need. If appropriate, I offer parent check ins that will offer support to parents to better address their teen’s needs.
Teens are entitled to confidential treatment so they can have a safe space in therapy, therefore, the therapy space will remain confidential and parent involvement is as needed and depending upon appropriateness, assessed by teen’s need, teen’s input and clinical discretion.
What is your cancellation policy?
We require 24 hour advance notice of cancellations. Less than 24 hour notice is considered a late cancellation and results in a $75 cancellation fee. This fee is the responsibility of the client. Exceptions vary depending on your insurance policy (e.g. medi-cal).
Why would someone do private pay instead of paying with insurance?
Sometimes a therapist may not be contracted with your insurance company or you may not have insurance, private pay allows you to receive services and send payment directly to the mental health company.
Some individuals also prefer to access care via private pay to receive more individualized care without imposition from insurance companies.
Whether you want to explore options for insurance or private pay, our team at Pearl Pathways can help you cover all options so you can decide what is best for you.
What types of therapy do you offer?
I incorporate various modalities into my work to understand your needs, develop treatment plans, and address your concerns. Therapy is no one-size-fits-all so we will work together to develop a personalized treatment plan to address your needs. Primary approaches and modalities used include:
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
With ACT, I aim to help clients embrace their thoughts and feelings, commit to actions aligned with their core values, and adapt to life's inevitable challenges.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use CBT tools to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thought patterns, which can lead to different ways of thinking and behaving. I use this method to compliment our work together and further name and change unhelpful thinking patterns, when appropriate.
Attachment-based
I use attachment-based therapy to help individuals gain insight into the impact of early relationships on their emotional bonds and behaviors and reconcile relational wounds.
Trauma Informed Care
I prioritize the tenets of trauma-informed care in all of our work, no matter the modality. This includes safety, trustworthiness and transparency, empowerment, and collaboration. I have also completed the Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist – Individual training through the Arizona Trauma Institute. I work with individuals and couples who have experienced complex trauma, including childhood adversity, emotional abuse or neglect, relational trauma, and systemic stressors that impact mental health.
What happens if I am late to session? What is your no-show policy?
There is a 15-minute grace period provided as a courtesy to clients and the therapist at the beginning of the session. If the client does not sign in to attend the session during this grace period, the session will be canceled as a no-show and a $75 fee will be charged directly to eligible clients.
If two consecutive sessions are missed, clients are subject to termination.
What age clients do you see?
I see clients that are ages 13+
